NEWPORT, R.I. – Congratulations to three members of the Society of Seniors who qualified for the 44th U.S. Senior Open Championship at the historic Newport Country Club in Rhode Island. The cut line after round two fell at +2, 142. Mark Strickland, of San Diego, Calif., led the SOS amateur contingent with a 5-over par total of 71-74-145. Mike Combs, of Savannah, Ga., and Brad Steven, of Cleveland, Ohio also missed the cut.
