WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Two rounds are in the books at Orange County National for the 16th Spring Classic. Wednesday brought sunny skies and highs in the low 70s, which made for optimal scoring conditions on the Crooked Cat Course.
Senior
Greg Sanders, of Anthem, AZ, posted a two round total of 2-under, 142 and leads by one stroke over Craig Hurlbert, of The Woodlands, TX, and Rick Stimmel, of Pittsburgh, PA. Hurlbert carded the low round of the day with a sparkling 4-under 68 that featured five birdies and one bogey.
Super Senior
Greg Goode, of Salina, KS, leads the way by one stroke over Marcus Beck, of Tallahassee, FL. Goode posted a 36-hole total of +3, 147. Tied for third place at +5 are Jim Starnes, Ft. Myers, FL, and Richard Kerper, Oldsmar, FL.
Legend
Don Donatoni, of West Chester, PA, continues to lead the Legend division after posting a two day total of even par 144 . Donatoni leads by two strokes over Evan Long, of Charlotte, NC, after Long posted a fine round of 2-under par 70. Tied for third at +5 overall is Peter Van Ingen, of Palm Beach, FL.
Grand Master
Johnny Blank, of Frostburg, MD, backed up his first round 69 with a 76 on day two for a total of +1, 145. Blank leads by four strokes over George Dillon, of Sun City West, AZ. Robert Kulp, of Savannah, GA, is in third place at 150.
Tomorrow’s third round will be back on the Panther Lake Course beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a Shotgun Start.
