RESULTS: 5th National Super Senior Championship

NORTH PLAINS, Oregon – The first round is complete at the 5th National Super Senior Championship hosted by Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon.  It was a picturesque fall day with temperatures in the high 80s with just a light breeze.  Scoring opportunities were ripe for the taking, and two players rose to the top.  Jeff New, of Scottsdale, AZ, and Tom Brandes, of Bellevue, WA, each fired sparkling rounds of 4-under par 67.  Both New and Brandes each carded five birdies against a lone bogey.

Sitting in a tie for third at even par are Greg Goode, of Salina, KS, and Dave Gaer, of Des Moines, IA.  Players are competing on the Ghost Creek Course, which is a par 71 Bob Cupp design that opened in 1992 and has hosted several major events.

Special thanks to the staff and membership at Pumpkin Ridge for their gracious hospitality in hosting the event.  Thanks as well to Callaway Golf for their sponsorship of the Society of Seniors.
