Stephen Maddalena, Jackson, MI

VERONA, N.Y. – A cool and overcast morning turned into a hot and humid afternoon with threatening showers at the 16th Jack Hesler Tournament hosted by Turning Stone Resort on the Kaluhyat Course.  As usual, the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed K Course provided a stern test.

Jackson, Michigan resident and Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Stephen Maddalena seized control of the Senior Division heading into the final round.  Maddalena fired the low round of the day with a 1-under par 71, in a round where he made fifteen pars and two birdies against one bogey.  He sits at 2-over par, 146 through two rounds.  Mike Paduano, of Shrewsbury, NJ, is the closest challenger at six strokes behind Maddalena in second place, while David Glabicki, of Cary, NC, is one more shot back.
