VERONA, N.Y. – The 16th Jack Hesler Tournament is underway at Turning Stone Resort’s challenging Kaluhyat Course, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design. In the Senior Division, David Glabicki, of Cary, NC, is tied with Mike Paduano, of Shrewsbury, NJ, after they each posted solid rounds of 2-over par 74. Stephen Maddalena, of Jackson, MI, is just one stroke back going into round two tomorrow.
In the Super Senior Division, Byron Whitman, of Bonita Springs, FL, leads the way after a sparkling round of 2-under par 70. Whitman carded three birdies on the day against a lone bogey and leads by three strokes over Gregory Goode, of Salina, KS.
The Legend Division is led by the low round of the day posted by John Armstrong, of Frostburg, MD. Armstrong fired 4-under par 68 to lead by two strokes over West Chester, PA’s Don Donatoni. Jim Hegarty, of Grand Rapids, MI, is four back after his round of even par.
The Super Legend Division is led by John Osborne, of Charlottesville, VA after his round of 3-over par 75. Osborne leads by two strokes over Jim DuBois, of Coral Springs, FL.
Round two gets underway tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
