Pete Allen, Southport, NC and Don Donatoni, West Chester, PA
PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Round one is in the books at the 40th Ed Tutwiler Tournament hosted by The Reserve Golf Club in Pawleys Island, SC. Pete Allen, of Southport, NC, and his partner Don Donatoni, of West Chester, PA, lead the pack after firing 8-under par 64 in today’s Four-Ball stroke play format. Allen made birdie on No. 5 to get the side in red figures, and then Donatoni caught fire during the middle of the round with birdies on 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, and 14. Allen then tossed in one more birdie on the par 3 No. 17 for good measure. Four teams are lurking three strokes behind headed into the second round, which will be Scramble format on the par 72 Greg Norman design.
Congratulations to Terry Cullen, of Jonesboro, GA, on his hole-in-one on No. 17 with a 4-hybrid.
