The Society of Seniors was conceived in 1983 by Dale Morey and Ralph Bogart. The original incorporators were Morey, Bogart, Edward A. Johnston, Glen N. Johnson, John C. Owens, Richard N. Stackhouse and Edgar M. Tutwiler. 

The Society is organized as a non-profit membership organization for the promotion of championship golf among senior amateur players and to do all things necessary or proper to accomplish this purpose.
